I recently started reading Tim Ferris 4 Hour Body, and one idea that he shared really stuck with me. The minimum effective does also known as MED. MED is simply define as the smallest dose that will produce a desired outcome.
For example, to boil water is at 100 degrees Celsius, boiled is boiled. Higher temperature will not make it more “boiled.” Higher temperature just consumes more resources that could be used for something else more productive.
There another example he shared for body redesigning:
To remove stored fat -> do the least necessary to trigger fat-loss cascade of specific hormones.
To add muscle in smaller or larger quantities -> do the least necessary to trigger local (specific muscle) and systemic (hormonal) growth mechanism
I am excited by this prospect, because I don’t have time to hit the gym for an hour or two every day. So first of all I started with exercise. Recently I come across this exercise routine created by researchers at the Human Performance Institute in Orlando, FL. They found that a high –intensity circuit training routine is the most effective way to workout.
And I would like to share the video, it brutal for me. So for any beginners out there, please take it easy and build your momentum as you go along the ride.
Over in the coming weeks, I will share more insights on diet and exercise that will be line with MED principle.
If you need to find the perfect timer app for this workout, please head here to find out.
